Since the player statistics are not publicly accessible about the only “PC health” numbers we will get will be marketing/shareholder release statements if we are lucky. Steam offered access to a wealth of information on game back-end but is an Activision product so that information is kept private. However with this platform change it means that it is no longer possible to collect player statistics for Call of Duty games from now and in the future on. The real benefits are yet to be discovered – other than cost savings but hopefully it will at least bring some better anti-cheat for PC. For the 2018 Call of Duty release Activision has decided to make a back-end platform switch away from Steam to their own Activision/Blizzard digital distribution platform called. Player stats are dead with the release of Black Ops 4.
